Singapore Day London 2009

25 06 2009

This project is on Singapore Day London 2009, which happened earlier this year on 25th May.

When I embarked on this project in November last year, it was still not decided that Singapore Day will happen in London. I decided on London and started on the logo design.

My take on the publicity campaign for Singapore Day London:

1) A series of Print Ads on The Times (London), using popular Singapore icons whom Singaporeans residing in London can instantly relate to.

3) Car Decal for Singapore Taxis

Decal is printed on both front and back. When viewed from outside the taxi, it is a silouhette of the respective Singapore icons (like a teaser). When viewed from inside the taxi, the full image and and more details can be seen.

For the event itself, I created…

1) Admission Tickets

Admission Tickets in the form of Singapore Parking Coupons

Behind the ticket is a lucky draw coupon which resembles a Singapore Airlines Economy Class ticket. The prize is a trip back to Singapore.

2) Goodie Bag

The article on The Straits Times will be specially designed to be covering Singapore Day London 2009. A photo booth will be available at the event, whereby instant photo prints will be given away to the attendees and these photos can be pasted onto the goodie bag.

This idea is pretty cool because it is as if they are on the front page of Straits Times, in the news article itself. :D

Attain Nirvana: Don’t overwork your kidneys.

25 06 2009

This small project is on how to take care of our 2 precious kidneys, which are given to everyone for free when we are born.

The whole idea started from the organ trade saga which happened last year, whereby Mr. Tang paid a huge amount of money in desperation for a functional kidney to sustain his life.

The first question that popped onto my mind was, “why pay for something you got for free?”

Which led me to the whole idea prevention is better than cure. Hence it is important for us to not overwork our kidneys. Then these phrases popped into my mind: pamper our kidneys, help our kidneys find their inner zen, achieve nirvana. This led me to the design outcome which has the oriental, Zen look and feel to it.

First thing that came to my mind was to have a kidney sitting on the clouds meditating.

I thought it turned out pretty cool. =)

Target audience are tertiary students (hence the light-hearted & playful character design). Simply because good healthy habits should start early. :D Axe the bad habits while we are still young and strong!

Help your kidneys find their inner zen. They can attain nirvana too. Oommm… *meditates*

Some Illustrations

26 10 2008

Just some illustrations I did during my free time…

I’m really into oriental designs this year. They’re really pretty, but I think I’m still not that good at it. Will work on it, will work on it…

Used this illustration to take part in myplasticheart’s wallet design contest. Just trying my luck! :P
