Tan Chin Tuan Nursing Awards Poster

24 10 2008

Poster for TCT Nursing Awards 2008.

Design theme for this poster is The Lamp, because Florence Nightingale who is a pioneering nurse, is also known as The Lady with the Lamp.

Lo! in that hour of misery
A lady with a lamp I see
Pass through the glimmering gloom,
And flit from room to room.

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I personally like this poster a lot. Too bad it wasn’t shortlisted for client’s selection. :(

First Try @ Studio Photoshoot

7 07 2008

Strobe, honeycomb, softbox, barndoor, etc… It was a handful of stuff to learn about the equipments used in a studio photoshoot, and of course the study of studio lightings.

We had approximately 7 weeks to experience how things work at a studio photoshoot and it was pretty fun, though things can get really confusing at times. Anyhow, I had a shoot with my model, Vanessa who had no difficulty in flirting with my camera lens. Hiak hiak. Sure does make my job easier.

So here are some photos which I shot. I used a soft box as the main light, and also included a background light to give the photos more depth. I still feel a little amateurish, but well, I tried my best and it was a good experience!

View the rest of the photos at my flickr set. Comments are welcome! :D
